............................................................................................................................................ And from University Witten/Herdecke (Germany): "In 2004 - 2005, we were looking for solid portable tables for education in osteopathic manipulative medicine. A market analysis and research on the internet gave us a huge offer of many types of tables, designed in different kinds of material like steel, aluminum, wood... We invited over 20 representatives of 'table-companies' to show their specific tables which could meet our conditions. The Tarsus bench was added at the end of the list - although there was no representative present. It was agreed that we would perform some manipulations on the presented benches to look for stability, security and comfort. The test was performed with five osteopathic teachers. Each osteopathic teacher checked 5 points: 1) the possible standing positions around the different edges of the
bench with security at first sight A good result was marked with 5, a rather bad result was marked with 1. Five osteopathic teachers gave 5 rates per table. The rates of the teachers were added up and divided by 5. Out of 25 tables that were tested, the 5 best tables were tested again with a synchronous body drop of 3 adults on the bench. A decision test for security and stability. In the end, the MA Tarsus 60 cm was the most successful bench. Not the lightest table in his category but swift to pack and unpack, with a clear stability, no damage of laxity after a synchronous body drop manipulation of 3 adult persons on the bench, a very good comfort, easy to repair yourself and an easy handling for medical students. After almost 7 years of using the tables about 6 full days per month,
they are nearly in the same condition. As a teacher in osteopathy, I can strongly advice the portable Tarsus bench for its stability and security." Jean Marie A.T. Beuckels Head of Department Osteopathy, Osteosophy and Osteopathic Medicine &
